Well hello again XD

I sort of gave up on LJ a while back, thinking that maybe G+ could be a better alternative but that place has just turned into one big retarded clusterfuck. So I'm thinking of clearing the dust off here and start over again.

Things have been up and down the last few months, I wouldn't say like a rollercoaster, more subdued like a sine curve. Work is fine, family is well, I've had some nibbles as far as relationships go too. I don't know if I'm any better of a person yet but I've been feeling more in control of things lately, took longer than it should have.

Not sure what all else to say right now, so I'll sit here and drink my coffee while sitting at the edge of my den.

Sup everyone XD Haven't posted in the longest time, been quite the busy dragon of late! I think I've spent all of 6 days so far in my den in June XD

From Memorial Day until the 17th I was in Wisconsin on that business trip. Nice area there, contacts at our client were friendly and worked amicably with me on what we needed to get done. The cheese and beer there are amazing XD Also got to meet some dragons; Nez, Keden, Azusis who were all nice to hang with and break the monotony of being alone.

And then this last weekend was Anthrocon of course! Had a great time as always hanging with friends and meeting some new ones ^_^ Though really it felt like one of the lazier ACs I've been to, alcohol was sorely lacking, did get to try hookah for the first time which was neat XD Still though, it's fun to just chill and not worry about things for a few days. I still don't get all the teasing about being a popufur, I just meet a lot of people over the years =p Some folks still bug me though, just politely saying hi is not an open invitation to stalk and creep around my group XD

I need to ramble about both trips at some point but I just wanted to say that, hey, I'm alive XD Hope you're all doing good also, I've got quite a bit of catching up to do!

Next trip shall be to Germany for EF and some time with Raitsh which I eagerly look forward to ^_^

OK so now everything is in order, bloody hell this trip is just feeling like it's going to be a big hassle now. But I will 100% be flying to Wisconsin on Monday, Memorial Day, lucky me.

I'll be back June 17, work 3 days the next week, then off to Anthrocon XD Busy dragon will be busy, but it shall be good times ^_^

Got all the Game of Thrones books for the trip so I should be ok, plan to make ample use of the pool and weight room in the hotel too, see what I can do in 3 weeks for myself.

Attended FA United last weekend in south jersey which was a pretty fun con, under 1000 people so you really get to see the same faces a lot and actually get to know people. Had a great time with my friends though, just makes me all the more eager for AC ^^

It took a while but I will be leaving for Madison, Wisconsin on the 15th, staying there until June 3rd. Unfortunately this means I'll miss the FA:U con in Jersey but I only had a passing interest about it anyways.

Back to the trip though, they got me staying in the Concourse Madison in what is called a 'Governors King Club Room' o.o;; Apparently one of the perks they told me about is a free, yes free, bar that is open at night >_> Though I really don't know what I'll be doing outside of exploring the area a bit. No rental car as the hotel shuttle will take me to the place everyday so I won't be able to drive to meet anyone in the area, if something even comes up. I'll probably bring monster hunter to keep me busy, perhaps bring my sketching stuff again to try to get back into that. I plan to make ample use of the swimming pool as well ^^

Speaking of cars, mine has been making some sort of grindy sound when I start to turn the wheel towards the right and you can kinda feel the vibrations from it >_>; So I'm going to have it looked at while I'm gone, dumb thing.

Family is doing alright since the tree fell on their house. They come to my place now and then to use the shower since everything is screwed up in theirs. They've had contractors take a look at repairing the upstairs areas but it could potentially take all summer for it all to be completed. Oh and apparently it was not a tornado now, just a 'microburst', lol. But that's apparently what they call tornadoes that haven't been on the ground long enough, technicality =p

So there's this site in the works, http://www.furrymate.com My guts and intuition tell me to avoid it like the plague, that it probably will be just as bad as pounced. And yet there's this part of me that wants to just create an account for the hell of it to see what happens. Good idea, bad idea.. won't know unless you try, right? Cause clearly I'm not connecting with anyone I know so time to branch out a bit more.

This isn't an omg I'm so desperate post, cause I'm not, I've really stepped back lately and feel better about myself. But that doesn't mean I want to hole myself in and just wait for something to fall in my lap, it hardly ever works that way =p So even if I just make a couple more friends from this site it'd be worth it.

Waaay back at Christmas I had promised my sister I would take her to the city for food and a broadway show of her choice, it was a sort of combo xmas/bday present idea (her bday is next monday XD;) With the annoying winter, we wanted to wait until there was some fair weather,so we finally got out to do it this past saturday.

Started off in annoying fashion. The train system is always annoying around here, and that day was no different! For a small section of track, NJTransit uses Amtrak's rail line to get into NYC, and Amtrak somehow managed to lose all power from Delaware to New York, so we got dropped off in Hoboken instead and had to take the PATH over, no big deal really.

We went to the TKTS booth to pick up some discounted tickets for Avenue Q (which was a brilliant play, more on that later). We were kinda rushed by this point but she really wanted to go to Chinatown for some dim sum so that's what we did, went to a place called Dim Sum Go Go =p It was a bit different in that you chose from a menu instead of having the carts going around. And that was fine with me, in places with the carts you're often left waiting ages while nothing but chicken feet go around >_> But here you got to choose all the good things and they deliver it to you in one fell swoop. Their duck dumplings were amazing, like omg they were fucking good x_x

Then it was on to the show! Avenue Q plays at the New Worlds Theater which is like a more modern building with a bunch of smaller stages inside than a typical broadway show. I was wary about the premise of it but it was really a great production! All the mature themes while using puppets to act it out really cracked me up XD Gary Coleman as a superintendent was priceless too =p (not actually him, but someone playing him as a character). It was so politically incorrect too with the Everyone is a Little Bit Racist and the Internet is for Porn songs, my sister felt that Kate Monster was like a mirror image of herself, which I kinda see too as they're both kindergarten teachers and kinda shy =p So overall I really enjoyed the show, see it if you can catch it ^_^

Afterwards we wandered a bit, I wanted to stop by the nintendo store to see the 3DS systems. They were, interesting, I imagine it takes a lot of getting used to o.o I played a bit of pilotwings and street fighter, you have to hold it just right to see the 3D and it kinda felt like you're straining to see it similar to how those 3D image magiceye books or whatever they were XD I'll give it more time though, we'll see ^^

For dinner we were going to go for pizza but we passed by a Mexican place called Sombrero, the scent of which was just too good to resist, especially since neither of us has had good mexican in ages. I got their red snapper burritos with spicy blackbean dipping sauce which was soooo good, definitely a place to keep in mind as prices were quite reasonable as well!

Then we went home, grabbed some Timmy Ho's coffee for the train and played Monster Hunter while she napped, lol

This is too awesome not to share here too, I suggested for a song to be played at the game last night and apparently they picked it!

So nothing seems to want to work these days.
AIM decides to randomly show contacts as being offline/invisible when they're not.
MSN decides that I actually wanted to block someone when I add them to my contact list. (Though downgrading to an older version has relieved some issues, the latest version of Live Messenger does not agree well with Windows XP but they fail to mention that)
And YIM is YIM >.>

How I long for the days when messengers, you know, sent messages back and forth seamlessly =p Anyways, point of this post is, if you're having problems contacting me I'm not ignoring you, it's probably something fucking up. You can contact me in any other way (email, FA note, etc) to check up on me before you get butthurt ^^ Though yes, believe it or not, sometimes I truly am afk, imagine that =p

Just a heads up, changed my skype account to FiredrakeNemmy ( it was getting a little weird using my real name for all the furry contacts =p ) I added just about everyone I had already, anyone else wants to add me then by all means ^_^

Not much to really talk about otherwise, life continues =p I'm meeting a furry for lunch tomorrow up in Sussex county, met him recently by chance, hope that goes well and I can have someone somewhat local to talk to regularly again.

Loud neighbors downstairs moved out and now a quiet, older lady lives there, it's so nice and peaceful at night again, so now I don't feel like I really need to push to find a new place when my lease is up again. No sense going through the hassle, I got no reason to move, someone give me a reason XD

I remembered another dream last night, was kinda weird o.o

It started out leaving from a convention. It was in California and, for whatever reason, my sister was with me.

We had to get to some airport 4 hours away, it had some random name, not a real airport, but yet I knew we were in Cali. Anyways, we're driving along in a rental car where the GPS had us basically going in the entirely opposite direction. We are driving through some town when we run out of gas and there is nothing nearby, the town had a sort of post-apocalyptic feel to it.

So my sister and I are walking around and we bump into some random guy, don't remember his name, but it was very much like those random characters you pick up along the way in some game. So he joins us in our quest to get to the airport, suggests we take a train. And of course there is a train engine just sitting there in town that we basically hijack. So we're riding along, soon as the rail merges with a main line, we see another train heading at us, we crash, the guy who was tagging along dies. Then another train comes up behind and hits us so we're sandwiched between them now. And then I woke up o_O;

So far for the month of the January, the NYC area has got 36 inches of snow. The all time record for snowfall in a single month is 36.9 inches, and we have a couple smaller systems set to hit the area through the weekend so we will probably beat that mark =p It drives one crazy after a while, so frustrating to deal with, I wish I could just hibernate and play monster hunter while sipping coffee under a heavy blanket.

But alas, it is not meant to be, I must go out and un-bury my car every storm, trust that its little 2 wheel front drive engine will keep me stable on the roads. Though what is getting annoying is the piles of snow at every corner, it's becoming a guessing game as to when it's safe to pull out at some intersections cause you can't see a damn thing until you're in the middle of the road XD

It is just insane, I have lived here a long time but I don't really remember a winter quite this bad. And yes, I know it's probably still small game compared to what some of you more northern folk get. Still, I think I have a right to complain!

For some reason I think my default one will be the winner, since it has the coffee and all, but I guess we'll see XD

So I was playing Mass Effect 2 and suddenly my monitor is like, derp, flicker, flash, white screen. At first I assumed the worse, thinking my video card died, but I was able to verify that nothing is wrong with the PC itself when I connected it to my tv. And no matter what I do with the monitor it just keeps showing that white screen, so I guess it's toast.

Monitor shopping for me tomorrow :D I wanted to upgrade anyways, now I have no excuse not to XD

I usually hate shopping at big box retailers for such things but I don't feel like waiting for something to ship to me and monitors aren't really that specialized like PC hardware would be.

Hope everyone had a nice New Year's Eve =) I went with Mith and Stage to Niagara Falls on the Canadian side and had a good time, went to a casino there and they also had some bands playing for an ET Canada show, including Bare Naked Ladies. So that was quite nice ^_^

Come on 2011~

As if 2010 wasn't bad enough, it decided to flip everyone in the northeast off on its way out with a blizzard yesterday, lol. Final total around my area was about 20 inches and it also prevented me from going to the Devils game last night, which they still played and miraculously had a few thousand fans show up XD Thankfully it seems we can exchange the tickets for a future game though, so I'm not as annoyed at that anymore.

After the game, two of the Devils players got stuck on a highway, Travis Zajac and Patrik Elias slept together in the car on Route 280, lol. And another player was stuck but got home after helping push some cars off as well.

But now I dunno if I should start my drive to Canada tomorrow or wait one more day... The roads are still a bloody mess according to the news and there is so much wind that there will likely be snow drifts at random locations on the highways >.> But my route is mostly north west where, for now, there is nothing bad going on... I just need to escape jersey and I'll be ok o_o

So I was in an experimental mood tonight, so I decided to try to experiment and made some curried hamburgers. And they are a keeper, omg, blows every other hamburger recipe I've ever tried out of the water.

Gotta share what I did, so easy to do and it's like an explosion of awesome taste in your maw :D

Nemmy's Curried Burgers

About 1 lb Ground Beef
1 small onion
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup seasoned panko bread crumbs
1 egg
1 TBSP of your favorite blend of curry spices, I used the poultry blend from here: http://www.indianfusions.com/spiceblends.html You can find curry blends in the grocery store, experiment and let me know!
Salt/Pepper

Mince the onion and garlic, toss into a large bowl. Add the bread crumbs, egg, curry spice, and a touch of salt and pepper. Mix it all together~ Then add the meat and knead it so it all mixes in. Shape into 4 patties and cook it however you like! I didn't use any sort of cheese or sauce when they were finished, I'll have to think about that for next time =)

Working from home today cause it was cold and somewhat icy, so I was just like, forget about it~

Had an emo moment earlier as well but I'm alright. Just thinking how it's the first time in a while I haven't had the fun of hunting down gifts for a mate and planning a visit for that week I have free. Cest la vie~

The Giants were supposed to play the Vikings yesterday afternoon but with all the crazy snow going down the team got stranded at the airport XD So that was fine, they were just gonna postpone the game, but then this happened:



I find it amusing how that happened, can be amazed by it since no one got hurt or anything. I guess it shows those weird inflatable roofs over a stadium aren't really that strong XD Though I mean, with all the snow I'm sure they get in Minnesota, kind of surprising it took this long to happen o.o

So now the teams will actually play their game in Detroit tonight, and the NFL is giving out free tickets to anyone who goes to the game to make sure they have a crowd I guess =p

So today I finally canceled my account to the game, it was about time seeing as how I've been paying for it and haven't played in months ^^;

It was tough to do though, had a lot of good times in that game. It's something I started playing in college... played the game through two relationships... met an amazing group of people online in the game that I quested and farmed and shot the breeze with all the time. All the noobs I helped, the idiots I butted heads with.. I'll miss them all, miss what I had in that game, really the only reason I haven't played is cause everyone slowly moved on. The countless failures, then the moment of success and accomplishment, getting my first NM drop, the trains of mobs I would collect when I wasn't being careful, haha.

I was hoping to have a similar experience in joining FFXIV but that game has just been a massive disappointment, didn't have any of the aura of the old game, in fact SE sent an email out to subscribers apologizing for it being so sucky, haha.

Wonder what I'll get into next. And don't say WoW, never going to bother with that game, I'll keep waiting for one that'll catch my interest.
