As if 2010 wasn't bad enough, it decided to flip everyone in the northeast off on its way out with a blizzard yesterday, lol. Final total around my area was about 20 inches and it also prevented me from going to the Devils game last night, which they still played and miraculously had a few thousand fans show up XD Thankfully it seems we can exchange the tickets for a future game though, so I'm not as annoyed at that anymore.

After the game, two of the Devils players got stuck on a highway, Travis Zajac and Patrik Elias slept together in the car on Route 280, lol. And another player was stuck but got home after helping push some cars off as well.

But now I dunno if I should start my drive to Canada tomorrow or wait one more day... The roads are still a bloody mess according to the news and there is so much wind that there will likely be snow drifts at random locations on the highways >.> But my route is mostly north west where, for now, there is nothing bad going on... I just need to escape jersey and I'll be ok o_o

Oh sure! Canada as the tropical alternative to the snow. Let me know how that works for ya! ;)

Funny story...about 10 years ago I was supposed to head to San Jose for a Sharks - Red Wings game. I took one look at the sideways rain and monsoon winds and decided against it. Turns out the game was called anyway because of flooding from the Guadalupe River into the floor of the Tank! Got a make-up game out of it too! :)

lol apparently this area of canada is kinda dry, just cold XD

Wow, I didn't even know there was a river close enough to flood that arena o_O

The blizzzzzzard you mention evem managed to make it to the news here. It's said to be one of the 10 greatest ever to be recorded in the area. Stay safe and keep yourself warm.

Haha dang that must've been big indeed to make Poland take notice. Certainly felt like one of the biggest ones I've lived through, not quite as epic as the one back in 1996 though.

What is this 'snow' that everyone keeps talking on about?

Nemmynemmy on December 29th, 2010 08:43 pm (UTC)
lol it would be great if your area got hit someday and you all freak out~
Almiraagraeth Ralatharngraeth_raltharn on December 29th, 2010 11:04 pm (UTC)
Yeah, that's like how it is when it rains.
Everyone freaks out at the barest sprinkle; like "OH MY GOD! THE SKY IS FALLING! EVERYONE INTO THE SHELTERS! WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST!"

And of course people slow down to 20mph on the highway, it's so annoying. Snow has come once in my lifetime here, it was disastrous. If it were to ever come again, it would be the end of civilization as we know it.

Do not forget to equip your car with snow showel, warm quilt, and sand/snow chains/friction quilt for tyres, and make sure to have with an extra bottle of water. Drive safely! *hugs*
